Red Hot Chilli Pipers new album released Sunday 17th October, 2010
Sunday October 17th sees the originators of Bagrock return with their blistering new album, ‘Music for the Kilted Generation’. The release will be accompanied by a string of Scottish tour dates, allowing the band to take their unique sound to the masses once more.
‘Music for the Kilted Generation’ is the Red Hot Chilli Pipers’ third studio album and a thank you to their fans – The Kilted Generation. Featuring the band’s ‘chillified’ versions of tracks such as Queen’s ‘Radio Ga Ga’, The Who’s ‘Baba O’Reilly’, Robbie Williams’ ‘Let Me Entertain You’ and AC/DC’S ‘Long Way To The Top’. Their version of Snow Patrol’s ‘Chasing Cars’ has been going down a storm in America where the band has been trialling it during a seven week tour.
The album also sees The Chillis incorporating gospel and dance into their melting pot of sound through the likes of ‘Everybody Dance Now’ and a superb version of ‘Amazing Grace’, featuring members of Glasgow’s Gospel Truth Choir who have previously performed with acts as varied as The Skids, Horse and Codeine Velvet Club
To celebrate the release of ‘Music for the Kilted Generation’, the band will play an intimate show at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Monday 18th October featuring some special surprises! There will also be the chance to join up as honorary members of the Kilted Generation and tickets are expected to sell out incredibly fast so fans should log on towww.ticketmaster.com
The Chillis will also appear at HMV Buchanan Street, Glasgow at 4pm the same day to sign copies of the new album and meet their fans.
